The Federal Labor Law and the State Labor Law Posters

Labor laws are always a big deal when it comes to employment. Protecting the rights of employees or workers is a much bigger deal. In the United States, they are very careful in protecting the rights of every employee. Labor laws are laws that should always be reminded of and be put into action to avoid unnecessary circumstances, like lawsuits, and other things that should be avoided. There are two types of labor laws, the Federal Labor Laws and the State Labor Laws. These labor laws are then put into posters as well as with their divisions, namely the Federal Law Posters and the State Labor Law Posters.

These posters are then mandated to be displayed in conspicuous areas on every establishments’, companies, offices, and businesses’ work areas. Such areas, as for example are, corridors, near drinking fountain, eating and snack areas, and the likes. Locations for these posters should also be readable for both employees and employers as well.

Federal labor law poster contain all the labor laws that are mandated by the United States government to be present in every state, examples of this are the "Anti-Discrimination Law", and the "Minimum Wage Law." Whereas the State Labor Law posters are specifically for particular states only, meaning that, each of the state in the U.S. have in a way different labor laws from one state to the other. As an illustration of this, in some state, smoking is severely prohibited in their working areas that are why it is also included in their state labor poster about the prohibition on smoking. While in some state it is not that strict when it comes to smoking, that is why smoking prohibition is not included in their state labor poster. On the other hand, there are also some similarities or things that can be found in some state labor poster to another labor law poster, again, as an example for this one, is the law in "Minimum Wage", this posting is very common and can be found in all state labor law posters, stating the minimum wage of an employee.

Though Labor Law Posters are dedicated for workers and employees, and also as well to employers, Safety Posters are then focused on the welfare of the general public. It contains the necessary and precautionary measures on certain areas on public places, giving notices to public on safety.
