Technology today offers many diverse choices when it comes to complementing a person’s needs with regard to mobile computing. Most people prefer to use the traditional mobile phone for portability purposes, as well as its processing ability. Others, however, prefer a Tablet for the ease of use that they offer.

Because of their diminutive size, these devices can be carted anywhere, be it in a purse or a briefcase. There is one disadvantage that is associated with using a tablet-computer. This device has to be "taught" to recognize an individual’s handwriting if they plan on using a stylus for inputting text and notes. Some of the devices have a pane keyboard which one can use to type on. However, most of them are normally small in size and have limited functionalities.

As with all things, the bigger something is, the easier it is to use. However, larger sized screens mean more energy consumption and weight. One will first have to decide if they wish to train their computer to do what they command it to do and if one wants a small size device so that the battery may last a bit longer. Many people choose the smaller size touch phone because the processing bit is not part of the requirements. One may want to select a box on a screen and then never need to write anything on it.

While bearing in mind all the options, one will soon note that there is a broad inconsistency when it eventually comes to a device’s cost, capabilities and power. Like all new technological advancements, the costs can be extremely high when the gadgets are still new. However, the prices usually drop drastically after a competing brand of the same which can do more than it and it is more powerful is launched. Like desktop computers and laptops, they are hurriedly outclassed by newer models, but the amusing thing is that they can be upgraded without much sweat.

These devices usually range in price from $100 upwards, which can be extremely costly for some people but not for others. The new state-of-the-art smartphone no longer require one to use a stylus. However, people who are large with stubby fingers usually have a problem with this feature, especially when they want to check boxes at the edges of the display. When it comes to pricing, it is done based on the processing power, type of display, the manufacturer, RAM and back lighting.
